Linda Segal Announces Candidacy for Selectman

I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the one-year seat on the Wayland Board of Selectmen. I have been encouraged by numerous residents and fellow town officials to run for the unexpired term to help Wayland through this important period of transition. My commitment to good government has been the cornerstone of my continuing participation at board and town meetings and in a wide variety of volunteer initiatives in our community for more than twenty years. As a former selectman, I offer my broad experience in Wayland town government and a long-term track record of doing my homework and getting things done. After months of observing the now four-member Board, I believe we must promote respectful public dialogue while embracing the challenges ahead. Open engagement, sound fiscal management and

fact-based decision making are essential for local volunteer government to work. Restoring greater collaboration and communication among town boards and departments will facilitate an informed and stable transition for our next town administrator (hopefully named before the election). I ask for your support. Needless to say, I would not be taking this step to return to the Board without the blessing and support of my dear husband. I would be honored to have your vote for the one-year selectman seat in Wayland’s April 1st special election.
